Is The NFL Fixed?

Superbowl XL and the playoffs were just unbelievable

TIME TO SPEAK OUT - The media is doing everything they can to divert our attention away from the Official's performance at the superbowl (and the playoffs).  The NFL's response to the poor officiating was worse than the on field calls by the refs.  As a true fan of the game...I cannot sit back and let this go without speaking out.

All NFL fans welcome to Subscibe, join in...or just add your comments.  This includes the fans of the world champs as well...they also suffered though some bad calls this championship season.

If you want to post a new topic....please e-mail your entry to  fixedgame@hotmail.com and I will post it.

Full Time Refs??

The latest diversion from the abysmal calls made by the officials during the 2006 NFL playoffs and Super bowl has been the topic of full time referees.  I think the NFL needs to investigate and evaluate their current Officials and then make a diagnosis.  I would like to hear something...anything from the NFL acknowledging the problems they currently have with the refs.  Having full time officials blowing calls is no better than part time officials blowing calls.

I am at the point were I see the NFL not caring about the fans concerns of game fixing and or game altering poor officiating making NFL games non-authentic.  I believe the NFL can rule out game fixing only after acknowledging the poor officiating the country saw during the playoffs/super bowl and investigate.  This is a concern that is not going to go away with true NFL fans and must be addressed.

First off, I would like to thank the creators of this site. This is an issue that needs to be adressed by the NFL.

I also want to point out that this is not just the Super Bowl. Bad officiating was a trend throughout the playoffs. Troy Polumolu's interception against Indianapolis to be honest might have been the biggest example of bad officiating.

The problem is hilighted thanks to the Super Bowl, but its much deeper than one game.

In regards to this particular topic, I'm not sure if having full time officials would help. Look at the NBA. The referees there are full time, and the league has arguably the worst officiating out of the four major sports.

I would hate to think the refs are apathetic towards the games since they aren't full time.

NFL officials don't follow the Rules.SBXL they say 30 Holding and only 2 called. A lot of calls that should have been called on both sides . officials ran in move the ball back. so it is a bad spot. why are officials making judgment calls.what is replay good for if you can't over tern a Judgment call by a officials.

You are on the money! don't spend in money gambling this year. The games are already decided. Arizona will be in the playoffs because it has a new stadium to fill. NFL execs and owners decided to legally fix games aka parity. But more money could be made just making deals with owners to fix games.

It started in 1996 after Dallas won their last superbowl. The NFL let large corporations/ marketing firms take control of the league and this mess is what you have today.

I feel fans should contact the NFL front offices and teams and complain. If you don't say anything millions of fans who gamble and just love the sport will be scammed out of their money and time.

talk to me or just get with people who want to complain about this b.s.

The NFL can make all the money it wants but just have the game honest, if my team is really awful well I still will watch them. If they are good then they should have a chance to go to the playoffs.

Even six months after the game, everyone I talk to about Superbowl XL still remembers how the NFL had fixed the game. If I were a Steelers fan, I would be ashamed to take responsibility for winning a game that was handed to me. The truth is that everyone knows the game was FIXED. FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC will never admit or even entertain any thoughts about the game being fixed simply to protect their investment. I hope that next season, all of the NFL fans will boycott and protest by not attending any of the games or watching them on television. I know I will not. THE NFL HAS FAILED US. IT IS TIME TO EMBRACE ANOTHER SPORT, ONE THAT KEEPS THE GAMES LEGIT. THE ONE THAT THE REST OF THE WORLD COMPETES IN. THE REAL FOOTBALL

You guys just don't get it do you! The NFL high brass isn't going to do anything. They're involved fellows. It goes way beyond what you see on a daily/game to game basis. Look at the Saints/Falcons game tonight. You think it wasn't way arranaged before the crowds even purchased their tickets. Don't be lame, this Shi..double scribble is arranged from top to bottom. Most professional and even Collegiate programs are run (more exactly - controlled) by the flow of cash, and I'm not talking ticket price, concession stands, and parking revenues.

Look at what's been happening for over a decade now (probably longer - no I know it's been longer, I use to bet through a Bookie in the 70s). The Vagus lines, spreads on games. Hell they can have the team that would legitimately win the game do just that and not beat the spread. Say just shave a field goal, extra point here or there, drop a pass, fumble the ball.

Yes, that's right the players are in also. And the meat heads that week after week attend, and year after year buy the season ticket, are thick as a brick. Cherish and support it for what reason! The common fan (which I know longer am) doesn't even know when his team (whole heartedly cheered for day in, and day out) after they have won a championship, whether they truely earned it or not. Sad thing is, many of them (although I know others like me) don't know that they don't know.

Wake up people, then turn your attention to something worthwhile.

I agree here to a certain extent.  I was certain the Saints were going to win that game last night...The NFL is fixed or "engineered" in a way to make more money or in the opinion of the NFL, make their product better.

I would never place any money on the NFL any more...
