Is The NFL Fixed?

Superbowl XL and the playoffs were just unbelievable

TIME TO SPEAK OUT - The media is doing everything they can to divert our attention away from the Official's performance at the superbowl (and the playoffs).  The NFL's response to the poor officiating was worse than the on field calls by the refs.  As a true fan of the game...I cannot sit back and let this go without speaking out.

All NFL fans welcome to Subscibe, join in...or just add your comments.  This includes the fans of the world champs as well...they also suffered though some bad calls this championship season.

If you want to post a new topic....please e-mail your entry to  fixedgame@hotmail.com and I will post it.

Thanks for all the support!   Fan of the Game

I am trying to keep a tally of sports writers with the balls to write articles on the sham that was the Superbowl...the first one I read was from Michael Smith on ESPN:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs05/columns/story?columnist=smith_michael&id=2320683

He wrote this and had it up by Monday Morning.  I'll continue to post articles as I find them.

2. Dave Fleming, ESPN The Magazine senior writer:

Question: How in the world can the NFL say the Super Bowl was 'properly officiated'?

SportsNation David Fleming: (3:09 PM ET ) Ya know John I was disturbed by that as well. I mean it's one thing to blow calls--seven by my count--and to apologize for it and look into it and be contrite about the errors but for the NFL to come out and say the game was properly officiated is shocking. I mean just when you think the NFL can't get any more condescending to its fans...

3.  Skip Bayless, ESPN - One of the best articles I've read!

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=bayless/060205

4. Chris Zelkovich, The Toronto Star - Article written just hours after the superbowl.

The majority of sports writers are: "NFL soldiers". Everyone in the business has gotten fat with the NFL and the sports writers need to go along with the master plan of the NFL or else.

I am not a Seahawks fan...I was routing for the Steelers at the beginning of the game, but when I saw some of the atrocious calls made by the refs...as a fan of the game for over thirty years...it just sickened me. I found my self routing for a fair game...The entire world including, the Pittsburgh Steelers, did not get that. To be clear I AM NOT WHINING ABOUT THE SEAHAWKS LOOSING. I am happy for the Steelers...I am happy for their fans who get to say they are world champs. Many fans I have spoken with saw exactly what I saw last Sunday and tell me "I'm glad we were on the side the NFL fixed this time."

What the sports writers do not get is that the majority of the country does not care if the Steelers or the Seahawks won (the majority of the country really wishes their own team won) they care about the integrity of the game. If the officials are going to call non-sense holding and pass interference calls on one side of the line of scrimmage, the need to be consistent and call the same for the other side. The non-calls for holding, off sides, and PI against the Steelers are very important...and there were a lot of them.

I really need to say this: THE FANS ARE NOT FOOLS. WE ALL SAW THE SUPER BOWL AND KNOW SOMETHING DIRTY WAS GOING ON. WILL ONE CORAGEOUS SPORTS WRITER STAND UP AND REPORT WHAT THEY WITNESSED ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE COUNTRY LAST SUNDAY?

A travesty of the sport we love...Football.

Why are people calling Seattle fans cry babies? If your home team lost this way, youd have a grudge towards the NFL also. I live in detroit, so let me start by saying this city quickly became Pittsburgh west....even the Mayor let it be known that he was pulling for the steelers. (Which is ok, but giving Jerome Bettis a key to the city? Shouldnt you save an event of such magnitude until AFTER the game?? I thought as the host city you really shouldnt be THAT bias) It seemed the hawks didnt have a chance from the get go. Im not a Seahawk fan, but let it be known Seattle, i feel your pain. The calls against you were not only poor, (ive seen Randy Moss throw people to the ground and not get flagged)they all seemed to just so happen to be after big plays. Thus they DID HAVE A MAJOR OUTCOME ON THE GAME!!!! Hasselbeck over the middle...TOUCHDOWN...no wait a minute the pittsburgh defender is explaining to the ref how he was pushed on and wait a minute....theres my flag!! Hasselbeck over the middle...caught! it will be first and goal at the 2 yard line on a 20 yard catch by stevens!! No wait theres that terrible towel again!!!!.....offsides defense...(thats what we all thought at our party) I MEAN holding on the offense 10 yrd pen, reapeat the down!! It got even worse (or comical depending how you look at it) when the next play the pass was intercepted, and on the return Hasselbeck is called for... a chopblock??!!?! Chopblock?? ok look, living i detroit, i recorded the game on tevo cuz our team may not be that good but i do like our stadium...this play i love to watch over and over, since when is throwing your shoulder into someones gut a chopblock?? If big ben or favre make that block the announcer is saying..."even though it was intercepted look at the guts on favre to make that tackle!!" Hasselbeck makes that tackle and we say.."heres another chance to throw our terrible towel!!" I saw the refs TRY to screw Pitt when the played Indy, and now I saw the refs REALLY screw the Seahawks. Yes there were some play the hawks couldve and shouldve made but id say as a avid, loyal football fan and a big fan of sports in general, Seattle, you got hosed.

This last comment is great. The NFL tried to screw Pittsburgh against Indy - and it was wrong. I am glad the Steelers won. I am also glad Porter spoke out to the media after the terrible call (and by the way - brilliant calling the ref's flag the "terrible towel"). Porter should speak out now as well - even though his team won. It would be the right thing to do.

Great points! Im also a huge NFL fan, and the Superbowl is supposed to be the pinnacle of a long hard season. Quit the ticky tack calls! That first call that robbed the seahawks of a touchdown just made me shake my head! I didnt think i could see a worse call than the one were New england was flagged for interference vs. Denver in that matchup at milehigh in the conference semi-finals...another terrible call!!......great points Joe! (love the terrible towel references)

first let me say this is a cool site! great that fans can express there voices!! .....leanord is why im writing this message, i read the 3 notes above yours and i can tell your a steelers fan like me! But i think the point that Joe or Tommy were tryin to make is that the refs did kinda ruin the game (in a way) im a huge jerome bus fan and a huge football fan, but i remember watchin Troy pick off Manning and when the refs reversed that interception i went through the roof! How can you get that call wrong? i was yellin at the t.v. but now that my Steelers are champs, and some of the dust has settled, i watched some of those plays the guys mentioned (Joes and tommys comments) and they all were pretty questionable, and as a long time steeler fan i guess the only way to quit all the crabbin is to have a rematch in Miami in Superbowl XLI!!!

For a good website that "people" are trying to shut down because of its content on the NFL and corruption, please see: www.moldea.com/gamefixing.html

If this was happening years ago, what makes you think, that in the age of computer technology, wireless communications, and the ability for anyone to calculate the best payday for a given outcome/spread in a matter of seconds and get it to a ref on the take, that it is not happening now?

Also, during 1994-1996 a friend of mine taught Literature to inmates at a prison on Sunday evenings. One individual told him EVERY SUNDAY what to bet on the Monday night game and its outcome. He was wrong only ONCE in nearly two and a half seasons! More astonishing was his claim to know DIRECTLY that these games were fixed.

I am a Seahawks fan and would be biased if it was unfairly officialed. But this game was out of control and the whole world knows it.
D-Jack call, Ben stuffed, the hit penalty that they had to overturn, locklear holding, no horsecoller tackle penalty, Hasselbeck low block penalty, etc. etc.
It was embarassing and really a travesty to have a team that had never been to a Super Bowl not get even CLOSE to a fair shot. Sad. It was definetely fixed. Definetely.

Even Canada knew it was fixed. The Toronto Star had an article on the game ripping the officials the day after too. I will provide the link once I find it.

      End the Corruption!

Why hasn't anyone responded to this site in so long...I have waited and waited for a response about what my last post...Maybe everyone else can feel my pain of being an NFL fan for years, just to have it's Identity stripped away in three hours...I know that is how I feel I wont ever forget it and I would like everyone to remember it as well because if this happens again in the NFL I WILL NOT WATCH THE Seahawks ANYMORE EITHER.As bad as that would hurt I couldn't stand to see another team and all their fans get crushed by the league and its officials. So until then I will watch Hawk games and most likely highlights and playoffs just to see how dirty they get in the niddygritty time of playoffs.

Hawksfan. I feel your pain and feel the same way. I have taken some time off from this site, but plan to get things rolling again.

The NFL has totally ignored what we all saw not only in the superbowl, but all season. We all need to encourage like minded people to post here and discuss what steps we can take.

You are smart and got balls yourself for writting this. The NFL has been fixing games since 1996. They let in marketing firms/corporations to show them how to make super profits, then the owners themselves turned parity into legal game fixing. After a few years they decided to just fix games period. T.V. ratings and ticket sales stay up late in the season if there are more upsets and the playoffs are not all decided. So thats what its all about, government agencies have bribed the NFL into putting certain teams into the superbowl for political reasons because of the teams name and location, to inspire America. The NFL plans to put the Arizona Cardinals in the playoffs no matter how good Seattle and St. Louis is. This is scamming and it is wrong. Hopefully, fans around the world will start to complain but many just can't see it.

Even if you don't get back to me get go and talk to fans you know and just tell them, some may get mad but just give them time and show evidence.

contact the NFL front office when we start getting a big fan base together and tell them to make your money but keep the game honest. If my team stinks they stink if they are good don't fix the games so they might lose.

      thank you.
