Is The NFL Fixed?

Superbowl XL and the playoffs were just unbelievable

TIME TO SPEAK OUT - The media is doing everything they can to divert our attention away from the Official's performance at the superbowl (and the playoffs).  The NFL's response to the poor officiating was worse than the on field calls by the refs.  As a true fan of the game...I cannot sit back and let this go without speaking out.

All NFL fans welcome to Subscibe, join in...or just add your comments.  This includes the fans of the world champs as well...they also suffered though some bad calls this championship season.

If you want to post a new topic....please e-mail your entry to  fixedgame@hotmail.com and I will post it.

Thanks for all the support!   Fan of the Game

Here we go again....
I have received e-mails about the Patriots Ravens game....

It seems the Refs were favoring the Pats on a few crucial calls down the stretch.  Coincidence?  I really do not think so.  I think the NFL wants the Pats to go underfeated...it makes their product better.  What product am I talking about you may ask...THE NFL NETWORK.  There is a little battle between the NFL Network and the cable companies...NFL wants to be on the standard cable package...cable does not want to include it.  I am really not taking sides on this one here...billionaires v. billioniares....but I know the NFL wants to win this one.  Hmm...The final game of the seaon for the Pats...it's against the Giants!  Where you ask???? On the NFL network.  What a great send off to the NFL networks' season...The Pats go for 16-0 ....which can be seen only on the NFL network.   Coincidence?   Nope.

Full Time Refs??
The latest diversion from the abysmal calls made by the officials during the 2006 NFL playoffs and Super bowl has been the topic of full time referees.  I think the NFL needs to investigate and evaluate their current Officials and then make a diagnosis.  I would like to hear something...anything from the NFL acknowledging the problems they currently have with the refs.  Having full time officials blowing calls is no better than part time officials blowing calls.

I am at the point were I see the NFL not caring about the fans concerns of game fixing and or game altering poor officiating making NFL games non-authentic.  I believe the NFL can rule out game fixing only after acknowledging the poor officiating the country saw during the playoffs/super bowl and investigate.  This is a concern that is not going to go away with true NFL fans and must be addressed.

NFL or WWF (WWE for the younger people)
After watching a superbowl comparable only to a WWF event, I find little option but to thoroughly investigate the NFL's officiating crew.  As I watched the program devised by the NFL this year called the superbowl, I made note of each instance where the referees made favorable calls (or non-calls) for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  (12 total calls/non-calls; 7 I believe to be game changing).   I am not a Seahawks or a Steelers fan...I am a cowboys fan...and when my team does not make the big game I AM A NFL FOOTBALL FAN.  I bet no money on this game.  When the game started, all I wished for was an enjoyable competitive game.

By trade I am an investigator.  I am currently getting film of the superbowl so I can further investigate the instances I made note of during the game.  I plan to then review all the playoff games and see if there is a trend with any particular officials.  My goal (a lofty one...which most people put it as "you are dreaming") is to petition the NFL for a full investigation of it's officiating crew.

Sports writers
I am trying to keep a tally of sports writers with the balls to write articles on the sham that was the Superbowl...the first one I read was from Michael Smith on ESPN:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs05/columns/story?columnist=smith_michael&id=2320683

He wrote this and had it up by Monday Morning.  I'll continue to post articles as I find them.

2. Dave Fleming, ESPN The Magazine senior writer:

Question: How in the world can the NFL say the Super Bowl was 'properly officiated'?

SportsNation David Fleming: (3:09 PM ET ) Ya know John I was disturbed by that as well. I mean it's one thing to blow calls--seven by my count--and to apologize for it and look into it and be contrite about the errors but for the NFL to come out and say the game was properly officiated is shocking. I mean just when you think the NFL can't get any more condescending to its fans...

3.  Skip Bayless, ESPN - One of the best articles I've read!

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=bayless/060205

4. Chris Zelkovich, The Toronto Star - Article written just hours after the superbowl.
